This fall, Andrew and I spent a week in Joshua Tree, California to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary. We stayed in a little Airbnb rental, hiked (highlights for us were Fortynine Palms Oasis and Ryan Mountain trails) and stargazed in the national park, and took in the beauty of the quiet and massive desert landscape around us. Rain on the first day of our trip broke a heatwave and we enjoyed lovely weather the rest of our time there to watch birds, relax, and see a vibrant harvest moon rising.
Three of my meditation drawings which together reflect upon the phrase “open heart” are included in Darkest Before Dawn: Art in a Time of Uncertainty at Ethan Cohen KuBe, opening this Sunday.
