end of year studio sale

Back again!

This year, my end of year studio sale is hosted on: etsy.com/shop/lynnettetherese

As pictured, many of the small works available this year will ship in 8×10″ mats – which makes them easy to display (this is a standard frame size) or gift once you receive.

I am again partnering with ISCP in support of their mission of developing the careers and opportunities for artists and curators from around the world. $10 from each artwork sale ($5 from each postcard bundle) will be directly donated to their work.

Members of my email list have already received a 25% off discount code good through the end of the year; if you’d like to receive this code, subscribe here and I’ll share it with you as well!

In Residence: Proprietors – Hudson, NY

Proprietors is a woman-run, collective shop featuring vintage apparel and handmade goods in Hudson, NY. I’m pleased to share that as their current artist in residence, a curated selection of my recent drawings, paintings, and collages are on display and available for purchase through mid-October. These pieces fit beautifully into such a stylish space – all the way down to coordinating with the wooden floor that is painted pink!

To see a full list of available works, please send an email and I’ll connect you with the Proprietors team. They are also responsive via their Instagram profile. Pieces range from $70 to $900, inclusive of wooden frames shown.

Layers of Time

Layers of Time” opens today at Upstream Gallery, and will remain on view through July 25. Three of my pieces are part of the show, including the drawing pictured here. The exhibition title feels particularly apt, not just to my work, but to the way we’ve been moving through the past year and a half… (What is time?!)

Hastings-on-Hudson is a quick train ride or drive out of the city if you’re in New York and looking for an excursion up the Hudson Valley. I took advantage of my drive up to drop off the artwork by hiking at Blauvelt State Park that afternoon as well; it was refreshing to be surrounded by so much green! Upstream Gallery is an artist-run space; I met a couple of the members and they were very friendly and welcoming.

May shows 🌷

Here are the details for three chances to see my work in group shows this month – one in-person in NYC, and two virtual.

Things to Fall In Love With was the earliest drawing of these three pieces, and the other two were created in 2020. You can see how the series of drawings has evolved to include more colors and layers, and even the painting seems cohesive with this body of work. Sometimes my painting and drawing processes feel almost too distinct, but here things seem to hold together.

Building on pieces like the ones below, I have been doing more experimenting lately with layering painting and drawing elements together. Acrylic paintings over colored pencil grounds, ordering new paint markers, as well as making some paintings on found patterned paper rather than a background that is hand rendered.

virtual: “Geometric Gestures” at dodomu gallery, May 6-June 2

Untitled (layered meditation)

in-person pop-up: “May I…” at StartaArta, May 6-14

Layered Practices

virtual: “Tell Me More” at Art Gallery 118, May 4-June 4
