sketchbook year 🚆 120-126

Week #18: back on track

Catching up on sketchbook pages (and posting them) after the past few busy weeks. Our Circling residency at Delight Factory is in full swing, and a lot of time and attention has been shifted there as we finalized and installed our first exhibition (Circling In Situ), created a print zine to accompany the show, and hosted the first three of six total gatherings we’re facilitating during our time as artists-in-residence. There’s still time to join us! Thanks to Delight Factory’s generous support, all events are either free or pay-what-you-can:

  • Sunday, July 19 | 11am-1pm | Art x Embodiment
guided movement and reflective artmaking, presented with Austen Bohmer of The Vessel
  • Saturday, July 25 | 1-4pm | How to Talk About Your Art
a workshop to help you communicate confidently about your art and creative practice
  • Friday, July 31 | 7-10pm | Circling In Situ Closing Reception
exhibition viewing, meet some of the exhibition artists, refreshments (there will be cake!)

This year, I am making at least 365 drawings in my sketchbook and sharing seven of them weekly. Check in on Tuesdays for new posts, or look for monthly round-ups in my studio newsletter — you can subscribe here to receive those in your inbox.

Circling Studios in Residence at Delight Factory, Brooklyn

From Delight Factory:

✨🚀✨ ARTIST RESIDENCY ANNOUNCEMENT: It’s a Circling Summer! ✨☀️✨

We’re thrilled to announce the Artist Residency of Circling with an exhibition and programs all through July at Delight Factory!

Circling is a publication, artist collective, and event studio charting the rhythms of the artist’s life. Founded by Lynnette Therese Sauer and Krystiana Kosobucki-Howell and inspired by years of conversation about the creative process, Circling Studios provides opportunities for artists to share not just the work they make but what makes it possible.

Through longform artist interviews, intimate workshops and events, and supportive professional development, Circling excavates the physical, financial, spiritual, and relational scaffolding that supports each artist’s practice.

During their month-long residency at Delight Factory, Krystiana and Lynnette curate Circling Studios’ first exhibition highlighting the work of featured artists, entitled Circling in Situ. True to Circling’s ethos, this exhibition attempts to contextualize the finished artwork in the context of the artist’s daily life.

We look forward to seeing you in July!

Art x Care : in photos

Art x Care took place on October 25, 2025 at the Delight Factory in Brooklyn, NY. This symposium hosted by Circling Studios explored the question, “How do our needs, relationships, and caregiving responsibilities complicate and contribute to artistic practice?”

The day included an opening meditation, two panel conversations with artists working across disciplines, and a guided reflection on our own ecosystems of care. Our featured artists and speakers included: Jessica Angima, Maria De Victoria, Ziedah Diata, Blair Goldberg, Marley McClean, and Sara J. Winston. My Circling creative partner Krystiana and I produced, hosted, and moderated the day.
