Collaborative Drawing II
with Amy Applegate + Naomi Carr
graphite on wall, performance (2 hours)
November 12, 2014 – Eskenazi Fine Art Center, Herron School of Art + Design, Indianapolis, IN
While linked by fabric drawing harnesses, we moved as a collaborative unit to perform the act of drawing and leave behind a site-specific line drawing. The right and left positions were responsible for up/down and left/right directions respectively – these were called out in unison; the center position combined each set of directions into a continuous mark drawn with graphite. Throughout the duration of the performance, we rotated positions and each took turns fulfilling every role necessary to the completion of the piece.
